On April 19, 2007, Michael Black, Professor of Computer Science, and his class, CS296-4 Topics in Computer Vision, received commendations from the Henrico County Division of Police, Henrico County Virginia, for their work on analyzing and enhancing surveillance video of a homicide crime scene. Professor Philip Klein has been selected to receive Brown University's Philip J. Bray Award for Teaching Excellence in the Physical Sciences. One such award is given each year to a current faculty member who is recognized as an exceptional undergraduate teacher.
