PhD Student Eric Sodomka was recently selected as a finalist for a Facebook Fellowship. Eric is a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate, performing work on autonomous trading agents with advisor Amy Greenwald. His research interests lie at the intersection of computer science and economics, focusing predominantly on decision making under uncertainty, game theory, and mechanism design. Eric is interested in developing bidding strategies for complex auctions in which analytically solving for equilibria is intractable, and understanding the auction dynamics when different bidding strategies are played. He is also interested in inferring bidders’ underlying valuations from their observed behavior, and understanding how ...
